I made this simple five spice salmon recently, don't know why I didn't think of using Chinese five spice to marinate salmon before. It was so simple to make and flavorful. I served it over noodles and vegetables.
Ingredients:
- 2 salmon filets (Wild Alaskan)
- about 1-2 tablespoon five spice
- a little olive oil
- one pack of Chinese egg noodles
- one cup of beans sprouts
- one cup of frozen mixed vegetables
- one carrot thinly chopped
- 2 tablespoon soy sauce
- one teaspoon ginger/garlic paste
- a dash of sesame oil
- 1/2 a sliced onion
- 2 eggs
Method:
- Coat the salmon in olive oil and five spice and marinate for 1 one
- then pan saute on medium high for 7-10 minutes until cooked
- meanwhile saute the onion in a little sesame oil and ginger/garlic paste, add 2 eggs and scramble into the mixture
- add the vegetables and soy sauce
- cook the noodles by boiling them for 5 minutes and mix with the vegetables
- serve with the salmon
- enjoy :-)
