Interview with Becky Hale

So to continue my series of interviewing fellow bloggers, interesting folks, friends, chefs and readers of Chow and Chatter. Its with great pleasure to introduce Becky to you, she isn't a blogger but an avid cook and a reader of the blog and often comments on the facebook page......

1. Tell everyone a little about yourself ....

Hi I'm Becky! I'm a nanny and also a birth doula, and I enjoy photography. I love to bake, much more than I like to cook, but I love watching cooking shows and watching others cook!

2. What's your signature dish ?

I guess my signature dish would be an Ahi Tuna recipe I found online that I absolutely adore and that's delicious. The tuna is marinated for an hour with soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, scallions, garlic and lime juice, then just seared on all sides-served very rare over shredded napa cabbage. Love it!

3. What's your favorite spice ?

My favorite spice has to be cloves-and I hardly ever cook with cloves! It's just the most wonderful smell! It reminds me of my childhood, when my mom used to simmer cloves, cinnamon and orange peel on the stove to make the house smell lovely. I used to sneak into the spice cabinet and open the lid of the cloves just to smell and enjoy them.

4. Who's your favorite chef and why?

I know he's so popular right now, but I like watching Gordan Ramsey-I've actuallly learned quite a bit from him, despite all of his temper tantrums!

5. If you could eat anywhere in the world right now where would it be?

I think if I could eat anywhere in the world right now, it would be New York City, because no matter what type of food you are in the mood for, NYC has it all!
