We visited this delightful historic farm last weekend, it's in Pinnacle North Carolina very close to Pilot Mountain and makes a great day trip from the Triad. The house was built in the late 1800's and it is now a museum show casing life on a farm in the 1900's this is a true gem of a place.
It's surrounded by rolling hills and the house is beautifully kept up with volunteers dressed in period clothes. They also have a visitor center and special days in the fall corn shucking and apple picking is popular. They have a horticulture expert on staff who manages a heritage apple orchard.
The kids got to help make apple pies and shuck corn, there were also period games in the yard and a few farm animals.

I highly recommend a trip to visit
Horne Creek and you can also see pilot mountain, a wonderful mountain with great hiking.
