Ingredients of Chicken Biryani Recipe:

1 kg boneless chicken, cut into pieces

1 cup basmati rice, soaked for 30 minutes

1 onion, chopped

2 tomatoes, chopped

1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon coriander powder

1 teaspoon cumin powder

1 teaspoon garam masala powder

1 teaspoon red chili powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup mint leaves, chopped

1/4 cup coriander leaves, chopped

1/4 cup ghee or oil

1 bay leaf

2 cloves

2 green cardamoms

1 inch cinnamon stick

1 teaspoon black peppercorns

Instructions for Chicken Biryani Recipe

Heat the ghee or oil in a large pot or pressure cooker. Add the bay leaf, cloves, cardamoms, cinnamon stick, and black peppercorns. Sauté for a few seconds until fragrant.

Add the onions and cook until softened and translucent.

Add the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute more.

Add the turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.

Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is browned on all sides.

Add the tomatoes, mint leaves, and coriander leaves. Mix well.

Add enough water to cover the chicken and rice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the rice is tender.

If using a pressure cooker, cook the chicken and rice for 5-7 minutes on high pressure. Let the pressure release naturally before opening the lid.
